Project Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, organized, and hands-on Project Manager to lead our team of Individuals within the sign and printing industry.

This position is responsible for overseeing multiple team members who each manage several customer projects at various stages of production. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who can keep people organized, identify problems before they affect deadlines, establish accountability, and help ensure projects move smoothly from order entry through production, installation, and completion.

This role requires someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly and multiple projects must be coordinated simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and manage a team of Project Managers and/or Project Coordinators.
• Oversee the overall status and progress of multiple active sign and print projects.
• Ensure team members are effectively managing project schedules, customer expectations, approvals, production requirements, and installation deadlines.
• Conduct regular project reviews with team members to identify delays, risks, missing information, and upcoming deadlines.
• Establish clear priorities and help the team balance workloads across multiple projects.
• Hold team members accountable for follow-up, communication, accuracy, organization, and project completion.
• Assist with escalated customer or project issues and help develop practical solutions.
• Coordinate with Sales, Design, Prepress, Production, Purchasing, Shipping, and Installation teams.
• Ensure projects are properly documented and information is communicated accurately between departments.
• Monitor production schedules and help remove roadblocks that could affect delivery or installation dates.
• Identify opportunities to improve project management processes, communication, workflows, and efficiency.
• Help develop and maintain standard operating procedures and expectations for the project management team.
• Train and mentor new and existing team members.
• Monitor team performance and provide regular feedback, coaching, and performance evaluations.
• Maintain a high standard of customer service while balancing production capabilities, schedules, and company priorities.
• Take ownership of department performance and ensure projects are being actively managed rather than simply reacted to.

What We’re Looking For

The successful candidate will be someone who can see both the big picture and the details. You should be comfortable managing people while also understanding what is happening across dozens of active projects.

You should be able to recognize when a project is getting off track, determine what needs to happen next, assign responsibility, and follow through until the issue is resolved.

Qualifications

• Previous management, supervisory, or team leadership experience.
• Project management experience in a fast-paced production environment.
• Experience in the sign, printing, graphics, manufacturing, construction, or related industry strongly preferred.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to hold employees accountable while maintaining a positive and productive team environment.
• Comfortable communicating with customers, vendors, production employees, installers, and company leadership.
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn project management, estimating, CRM, and production software.
• Working knowledge of sign production, large-format printing, fabrication, permitting, installation, or similar processes is a plus.
