Job Description
$150,000 - $180,000 + Equity
Manhattan, New York (Hybrid)]
Talentedge are partnering with one of the most exciting AI scale-ups in New York on the appointment of a Senior Accountant as they continue building out their US finance function.
Following a major funding round, the company is now approaching unicorn status, backed by some of the world’s leading venture capital investors and scaling rapidly across the US and internationally.
This is far from a traditional Senior Accountant position. You’ll join a lean, high-caliber finance team with significant ownership and exposure to senior leadership, helping build the accounting infrastructure required to support a business scaling towards $1bn+ valuation and beyond.
Responsibilities
- Take significant ownership of the month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Help build and scale the company’s accounting processes, controls and infrastructure.
- Own key areas across revenue, expenses, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Partner closely with FP&A, Sales, Legal, Operations and other teams across the business.
- Support external audits, tax, financial reporting and internal controls.
- Drive automation and process improvement, including opportunities to leverage AI across Finance.
- Support the continued development of the company’s ERP and finance technology stack.
- Gain exposure to international expansion, new entities and wider strategic finance projects as the company scales.
Profile
- Big 4, CPA
- 3–6 years’ accounting experience, ideally combining public accounting with an in-house role.
- Experience within SaaS, AI or another high-growth technology environment is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, month-end close and financial reporting.
- Excited by the opportunity to build, automate and improve processes, rather than simply maintain them.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment where responsibilities will grow alongside the company.
- Strong interest in AI, automation and modern finance technology.
- Experience with NetSuite or similar tools is advantageous.
