As the Design Manager – Home Textiles , you will play a key role in the design, development, and merchandising of trend-driven home textile collections across multiple categories. This role combines hands-on design, trend forecasting, merchandising, and team leadership to create innovative, commercially successful products for major retailers.

You will manage design projects and support the design team while partnering closely with Sales, Product Development, Sourcing, and Production to bring seasonal collections from concept through production.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute seasonal design concepts across home textile and soft home categories, including bedding, decorative pillows, kitchen and table linens, bath, and related products.
• Research and forecast trends across color, print, pattern, materials, texture, and home décor.
• Translate market trends and customer insights into compelling, commercially relevant product assortments.
• Support line building and merchandising, including product mix, color stories, price points, and retailer-specific assortments.
• Create and oversee the development of prints, patterns, artwork, embroideries, textures, fabrications, and decorative techniques.
• Manage and mentor designers, providing creative direction and overseeing projects, priorities, and timelines.
• Review artwork, tech packs, samples, and specifications to ensure design intent and quality are maintained throughout development and production.
• Partner with Sales on customer requests, showroom presentations, buyer meetings, and retailer-specific product development.
• Collaborate with Product Development, Sourcing, and Production to ensure products meet design, quality, margin, and target pricing requirements.
• Stay current on competitive products, retail trends, and emerging opportunities within the home furnishings and home textile market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, Surface Design, Fine Arts, or related field.
• 6+ years of design experience within home textiles, soft home, home décor, or related consumer product categories.
• Strong background in hands-on design, print and pattern, merchandising, line building, and trend forecasting.
• Experience managing or mentoring designers and coordinating multiple design projects preferred.
• Strong knowledge of color, textiles, fabrications, print techniques, product construction, and manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Strong understanding of retail product development, major retail accounts, and overseas manufacturing.
• Ability to balance creativity with commercial, customer, and pricing requirements in a fast-paced environment.
• Portfolio demonstrating relevant home textile design experience required.
