Job Description
A leading global investment management firm (credit, real estate, private equity & permanent capital strategies) is looking for a SQL Developer to join a small, focused Credit Technology team building a homegrown Valuations Aggregation tool — replacing an existing third-party vendor platform used to value the firm’s credit investment book.
This tool is core to how the firm determines the value of its credit book and reports that value to investors, so accuracy, traceability, and strong data fluency are essential.
What you’ll do:
- Migrate data from the existing vendor platform into the new homegrown tool, reconciling structural differences between source and target systems
- Validate migrated and ongoing data for accuracy and completeness (pricing and quantity data)
- Design, build, and maintain SQL views and stored procedures on SQL Server (on-prem) supporting the application and downstream reporting
- Trace data lineage — from a value shown on the UI back to its origin in the pipeline
- Build and maintain ETL pipelines (SSIS) pulling in data from external sources
- Support the Power BI reporting layer built on the new platform
- Partner with business users to ensure data is marked/priced properly
- Collaborate closely with SQL Developers in New York and India
What you’ll need:
- 5+ years of professional SQL development experience
- Strong hands-on experience with the Microsoft stack: SQL Server (on-prem), T-SQL, and SSIS
- Experience with Power BI
- Data migration experience — comfortable reconciling and mapping data when source and target structures don’t match
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to build and thoroughly validate end-to-end pipelines
- Ability to work independently to trace and troubleshoot data from UI back to source
Nice to have:
- Experience with Azure microservices architecture
- Domain experience in credit/fixed income investments — especially pricing and quantity/position data
- Understanding of portfolio valuation from an accounting perspective, including how book value is calculated and reported to investors
