Role Description The Senior Java Developer role is a contract position based in Dublin with a hybrid work model, combining on-site collaboration and some work-from-home flexibility. In this role, the developer designs, implements, and maintains Java-based applications and services, focusing on scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and enhancing microservices, working with the Spring Framework, reviewing and optimizing code, and participating in technical design and architecture discussions. The Senior Java Developer collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, contributes to best practices, supports code reviews, and troubleshoots production issues to ensure reliability and stability of systems. The role also involves mentoring less experienced developers and contributing to continuous improvement of development processes and tools.

Qualifications

• Strong software development skills, with experience in end-to-end application design, implementation, and maintenance.
• Advanced programming expertise in Java, with a focus on building robust, maintainable, and secure code.
• Hands-on experience with microservices architectures, including designing, developing, and integrating distributed services.
• Proficiency in the Spring Framework (e.g., Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Security) for enterprise-level application development.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, relational and/or NoSQL databases, and integration with external systems.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control (e.g., Git), and automated testing frameworks.
• Ability to work effectively in hybrid teams, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and mentor other developers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in European enterprise environments or consulting engagements is beneficial.
