Job Description
About the Current App:
Marketplace app currently running on iOS and Android with Firebase/Firestore backend infrastructure.
Goal:
We are rebuilding the mobile app using React Native with a strong focus on:
- clean architecture
- vendor independence
- scalable marketplace systems
- future backend portability
- multi-surface platform evolution
This is not just a UI rewrite. The goal is to build a long-term platform foundation for mobile, web, and future expansion into multiple categories and regions.
Role
We are looking for a senior React Native developer experienced in:
- React Native CLI
- clean/layered architecture
- scalable mobile applications
- backend/API integrations
- marketplace-style applications
- long-term maintainable systems
This role involves rebuilding the current app architecture while preserving feature parity and preparing the platform for future migration from Firebase/Firestore to PostgreSQL-based infrastructure.
Technical Direction
We strongly prefer:
- React Native CLI
- vendor-independent architecture
- clean abstraction layers
- portable infrastructure
- self-hostable or replaceable systems
We want to avoid:
- hidden vendor lock-in
- Expo-managed infrastructure dependency
- tightly coupled Firebase architecture
- business logic spread across UI/screens
