Position Overview

We are seeking a  Senior Software Developer  to design, develop, and maintain software solutions that power our publishing platforms and digital products. The ideal candidate will be an experienced engineer with a passion for building robust, scalable, and user-friendly systems that support content creation, management, and distribution. Must be based in Chennai.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend and frontend systems for digital publishing platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Editorial, Design, QA) to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Build and optimize APIs, microservices, and integrations with content management and distribution systems.
• Ensure performance, security, and scalability across applications and systems.
• Lead and mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and promote best practices.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies relevant to publishing and digital media.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Education:  Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience:  2–3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Core Technologies:
• Backend: Node.js, Python, Java, or .NET Core
• Frontend: React, Angular, or Vue.js
• Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or similar
• Cloud: AWS / Azure / GCP
• APIs: REST, GraphQL
• DevOps & Tools:  Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.)
• Experience with  Content Management Systems (CMS)  or  publishing workflows  (e.g., WordPress VIP, Drupal, AEM, or custom CMS).
• Strong understanding of  metadata management ,  digital asset management (DAM) , and  content delivery networks (CDNs) .
• Solid grasp of software engineering best practices — testing, version control, design patterns, and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with  digital publishing platforms  or  ebook / journal delivery systems .
• Knowledge of  XML/JSON publishing formats ,  EPUB standards , or  digital rights management (DRM) .
• Familiarity with  data analytics ,  recommendation engines , or  AI-driven content personalization .
• Exposure to  Agile / Scrum methodologies  and  CI/CD  culture.
