Job Description
Due to continued growth, GNR has been retained by one of the most innovative organizations in need of an experienced OPTICS DESIGN ENGINEER !
You’ll be part of a small ADVANCED DEVELOPMENT team that’s creating “ custom optical solutions ” for some of the most complex systems used in industry today.
- Partner with customers to understand their specific needs and turn those requirements into a high-precision optical solution used in critical applications.
- Be involved with multiple programs full life cycle: specification – conception – design – analysis – prototyping – testing – manufacturability – completion & delivery.
- Collaborate across multiple disciplines: metrology, controls, and mechanical packaging.
REQUIREMENTS & SKILLS:
- Experience with complex optical lens designs, including systems-level development & performance analysis.
- Imaging & illumination systems - Wavefront analysis, reflective/refractive, tolerance, fabrication methods, materials selection, polarization
- Fluent with optical analysis tools & software; Code V, ZEMAX, Optics Studio, Light Tools, TracePro, ASAP, MATLAB, Macro Design, FRED
- BS - MS - PhD in a technical field: Optics / Materials / Physics / Engineering etc.
- US Citizenship / Perm Resident
