Seismic is looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer with strong production experience. You will be building the interfaces through which operators monitor their infrastructure in real time, view incidents and evidence, and manage their sites. The dashboard handles live data from a large number of concurrent sources and needs to perform reliably across different devices and connectivity conditions.

CORE REQUIREMENTS

• Strong hands-on experience with React in production. You understand component architecture, state management, and how to build interfaces that remain performant as data volumes grow.

• TypeScript. Strong proficiency. You write typed code and understand why it matters in a team environment.

• Real-time data. Experience with WebSockets or Server-Sent Events for live dashboard updates. You know how to handle high-frequency incoming data without degrading the user experience.

• Mapping and GIS. Experience integrating mapping libraries such as Mapbox, Leaflet, or Google Maps for real-time location and site visualisation.

• Performance optimisation. Experience building dashboards that handle large volumes of live data. You understand rendering performance, lazy loading, virtualisation, and pagination.

• API integration. Comfortable working with REST APIs and WebSocket connections. You handle loading states, errors, and edge cases properly.

• Offline-first and degraded connectivity. Experience building interfaces that remain usable when connectivity is poor or intermittent.

• Testing. You write meaningful tests for critical user flows and understand the difference between unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.

• Cross-browser and cross-device compatibility. You build interfaces that work consistently across the range of browsers and screen sizes your users actually have.

WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON

You will work on the operator-facing web dashboard and the command centre interface, both of which are live production interfaces receiving real-time data from a large number of concurrent sites. You will also work on the regulatory access views required for compliance oversight. Your input on architecture and user experience decisions is expected from day one.

NICE TO HAVE

• Data visualisation libraries for operational dashboards such as D3.js, Recharts, or equivalent.

• Experience with complex table rendering, filtering, and export at scale.

• Familiarity with evidence review interfaces or audit trail displays.

• Experience with design systems and component library development.
