Advanced Network Architect – Operational Technology (OT)

We’re seeking a highly experienced Advanced Network Architect to lead the design, strategy, modernization, and support of mission-critical Operational Technology (OT) network infrastructure within a large-scale transportation environment.

This role is ideal for an architect with deep expertise in OT networking, cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, and 24x7 highly available environments .

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, modeling, and long-term strategy for core, distribution, and edge network infrastructure supporting OT environments.
• Architect network solutions supporting CCTV, Public Address (PA), CBTC, Bus Radio, power systems, cybersecurity, and other transportation operational systems .
• Design highly available and resilient architectures supporting 24x7 operations .
• Provide technical leadership and guidance for complex OT infrastructure initiatives.
• Develop solutions addressing cybersecurity, operational continuity, safety, and regulatory compliance .
• Integrate OT and IT environments while maintaining appropriate network segmentation and security controls .
• Develop and maintain OT architecture standards, reference models, and technical documentation.
• Lead modernization efforts for legacy operational systems.
• Partner with Networking, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Operations, and Procurement teams.
• Present architecture strategies, recommendations, and modernization plans to leadership.

Required Qualifications

✔ 10+ years of OT Network Architecture experience

✔ 10+ years of OT Cybersecurity experience

✔ Strong experience designing core, distribution, and edge network architectures

✔ Experience supporting highly available, mission-critical 24x7 environments

✔ Advanced knowledge of network segmentation and OT/IT integration

✔ Strong understanding of network virtualization and wireless technologies

✔ Experience developing resilient and scalable network architectures

✔ Knowledge of operational, safety, cybersecurity, and regulatory requirements

✔ Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Enterprise Architecture

Experience with enterprise architecture modeling tools such as Abacus is highly desirable, including:

• Architecture modeling
• Scenario planning
• Impact analysis
• Reference architectures
• Architecture standards
• Lifecycle and modernization planning
