The successful candidate will help maintain accurate visibility into the status and readiness of building HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection/life-safety, and BMS/BAS systems. This position is ideal for someone who understands how MEP systems come together in the field and can proactively identify constraints, coordinate multiple trades, maintain accurate trackers, and drive open items toward closure.

What You’ll Do

  • Monitor the installation and readiness of building HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, life-safety, and building automation systems.
  • Support the System Owner in maintaining accurate system, subsystem, equipment, and turnover-package status.
  • Coordinate day-to-day interfaces among MEP contractors, controls teams, commissioning personnel, vendors, and adjacent disciplines.
  • Identify installation conflicts, incomplete prerequisites, access issues, maintenance-clearance concerns, trade-stacking conflicts, and other field constraints.
  • Participate in system walkdowns from construction and Mechanical Completion through C&Q and handover.
  • Track punch-list items, field issues, commissioning prerequisites, and turnover actions through closure.
  • Support equipment startup, controls checkout, testing and balancing, flushing, functional testing, alarm verification, and related readiness activities.
  • Monitor equipment protection, preservation, delivery, installation, and vendor-support requirements.
  • Review drawings, specifications, submittals, single-line diagrams, riser diagrams, control diagrams, and sequences of operation.
  • Compare observed field conditions with approved project documentation and escalate potential discrepancies.
  • Support look-ahead planning, pull-planning, constraint-removal, and MEP installation-sequencing sessions.
  • Maintain clear and current logs covering risks, issues, constraints, decisions, punch-list items, and turnover documentation.
  • Prepare concise status updates identifying completed work, upcoming activities, unresolved constraints, and decisions requiring escalation.
  • Support the orderly turnover of completed Building MEP systems to Client Operations.

What We’re Looking For

  • Five or more years of experience in MEP construction coordination, field engineering, commissioning, project engineering, facilities, or a related project-delivery role.
  • Working knowledge of building HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, fire protection/life safety, and BMS/BAS controls.
  • Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, equipment submittals, single-line diagrams, riser diagrams, and control documentation.
  • Familiarity with construction sequencing, Mechanical Completion, startup, commissioning, qualification, punch-list management, and system turnover.
  • Strong field-coordination and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple systems, work areas, contractors, action items, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to identify risks early, clearly document issues, and drive responsible parties toward resolution.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate project records.
  • Ability to work regularly in an active construction environment and comply with all site safety requirements.

Preferred Experience

  • Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, advanced manufacturing, healthcare, mission-critical, or other highly regulated construction programs.
  • Commissioning & Qualification activities in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with IMC, NEC, NFPA, IPC, and applicable building-code requirements.
  • BMS/BAS coordination, equipment startup, testing and balancing, electrical energization, fire-alarm integration, or life-safety testing.
  • BIM coordination models, electronic punch-list systems, construction-management platforms, or commissioning-management systems.
