Job Description
Most companies struggle with internal tools that are poorly built or outdated, leading to wasted time and frustrated employees. We step in to fix these bottlenecks by looking at the actual code and logs to see where the logic breaks down.
We are currently supporting a major logistics and technology provider in Dubai as they transition their core shipping and inventory systems to a modern platform. This Frontend Engineer Intern will help us build the interfaces that their operational teams use to track freight and manage complex customs data. This is a fully remote position where you will focus on building logical, functional tools that solve real business problems rather than just working on aesthetics.
What you will do
- Build and style reusable components using React to ensure consistency across the client internal portal.
- Test new features against real-world edge cases to find where the interface logic might fail a warehouse user.
- Read through system logs and browser console outputs to identify why specific frontend actions are causing errors.
- Update internal documentation and readme files so the client team can maintain the tools after our work is done.
- Collaborate with the backend team to ensure that API integrations are returning the correct data for shipping manifests.
- Participate in asynchronous code reviews where the focus is on clarity, logic, and long-term maintainability.
- Help migrate complex data tables from legacy reporting suites into the new, responsive application interface.
- Fix layout bugs and styling issues reported by the logistics staff who use these tools in high-pressure environments.
What we are looking for
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript, including an understanding of how the DOM works.
- Familiarity with React or a similar component-based library through school projects or personal coding work.
- A logical approach to problem-solving and a genuine interest in how a logistics business moves items from one place to another.
- Clear writing skills for documentation, commit messages, and daily updates in Slack.
- The ability to work independently in a remote setting and manage your own time effectively.
- Attention to detail when it comes to user flow and ensuring that data entry is as simple as possible.
- Comfortable using Git for version control and basic command line tools.
- A willingness to ask questions when a technical requirement is unclear or seems to conflict with the project goal.
What we offer
- Competitive pay for an internship role, reflecting the value you bring to our client projects.
- A fully remote working environment that respects your time and focuses on output rather than hours spent at a desk.
- Direct mentorship from senior engineers who prefer teaching through code reviews and technical feedback.
- Exposure to high-stakes business problems within the logistics and technology sector.
- A professional atmosphere that avoids corporate fluff and unnecessary status meetings.
- Access to modern development tools and the chance to contribute to a codebase that will be used immediately.
- The opportunity to learn how to document technical processes so they remain stable long after a project ends.
Tech Pipeline operates on the principle that clear written communication is more effective than an endless series of video calls. We rely on documentation and concise status updates to keep our projects moving forward, especially when working across different time zones. We are not interested in flashy presentations or corporate slogans: we are interested in making sure a business process works correctly. Our goal is to fix the underlying issue, ensure the system is stable, and then hand over the keys to the client. This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys the practical side of engineering and wants to see their work improve the daily lives of the people using the software.
