Software Engineer - DevOps

• This role will be a member of Software Engineering in-house team building for Zed.
• Who will be working on the deployment of Zed Mobile Apps and Web App.
• This role will bridge the gap between development and operations, ensuring that applications are delivered quickly, securely, and with high availability, ultimately contributing to the organization’’s agility and competitiveness.
• Containerize applications using Docker and manage their orchestration on Kubernetes.
• Utilize AWS services like EKS, Lambda, and S3 for efficient and scalable infrastructure solutions.
• Implement auto-scaling mechanisms to dynamically adjust resources based on workload demands.Implement Infrastructure as Code (IAC) practices to manage and version infrastructure configurations.
• Use automation to streamline routine tasks, such as provisioning and scaling resources.
• Establish clear change management processes to prevent unauthorized changes to production environments.
• Regularly conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments to ensure a secure infrastructure.
• Set up centralized logging and monitoring solutions for real-time visibility into system health.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging team members to suggest optimizations and efficiencies.
• Collaborate with development teams to design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues.Lead the development and maintenance of monitoring and logging systems to ensure application performance and stability.
• Identify and implement best practices for ensuring security, reliability, and performance in cloud-based environments.

Preferred

• Backend/AWS/Azure frameworks courses/certifications.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong proficiency in using GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps for automating CI/CD pipelines.
• Solid understanding of Docker containers and Kubernetes orchestration.
• Expertise in AWS services including EKS, Lambda, S3, and familiarity with other cloud providers.
• In-depth knowledge of auto-scaling concepts and implementation.
• Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Ability to set up efficient monitoring and logging solutions for applications.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IAC) using tools like Terraform.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.4+ years of Software Development and server managment experience.
• Measure the speed and accuracy of code deployments, including the time taken from code commit to production deployment.
• Track system uptime and availability to ensure that applications and services are accessible to users as per service level agreements (SLAs).
• Monitor and report on security vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with security standards and regulations.
• Evaluate and optimize cloud infrastructure costs while maintaining performance and scalability.Ensuring the security of cloud-based infrastructure and applications is a continuous challenge, especially with evolving threats.
• To maintain stability and performance in complex and distributed environments.
• Adapting infrastructure to accommodate rapid growth in user traffic and data volume can be challenging without causing downtime.
• Oncall production systems support during off-hours.
