Job Description
Design Manager, Women’s — Culture & Lifestyle RTW
New York, NY — Full Time
Onsite - 5 days a week
Salary: $200K
We’re partnering with a New York–based fashion house whose women’s business has expanded into a full lifestyle universe — spanning all lifestyle categories and high‑impact seasonal capsules. This brand doesn’t just make clothes — it knows culture . It understands the city’s energy, subcultures, nightlife, diaspora, and the way New Yorkers actually live. Its design language is shaped by community, collaboration, and the rhythm of the city.
This is a brand that sits shoulder‑to‑shoulder with the houses and creatives who define modern culture — the visionaries . A brand that collaborates with the world’s most influential creatives because it is one of them . This is a cultural institution, not just a fashion label. A modern luxury house built on cultural collaboration, not fashion alone.
The team is seeking a Women’s Design Manager who can evolve the brand’s identity, elevate core categories, and lead a modern, culturally attuned design team.
What You’ll Lead
- Seasonal design development across all women’s RTW, tailoring, dresses, lounge, fleece, knits and accessories
- Concept creation, mood boards, and design narratives that feel modern, aspirational, and culturally relevant
- Limited‑edition capsules, partnership projects, and high‑impact releases aligned with brand moments
- Fit sessions, garment refinement, and quality control with a focus on proportion, construction, and premium detailing
- Cross‑functional collaboration with PD, Tech, Merch, and Production to ensure clarity, accuracy, and timely execution
- Team leadership — inspiring designers, elevating ideas, and maintaining a high creative standard
Brand Evolution
This is the core.
We need someone who can respect the brand’s DNA while pushing it forward across all categories.
Not reinventing. Not disrupting. Evolving.
The ideal candidate understands how to introduce newness with intention, elevate existing categories, sharpen silhouettes, and build a more defined women’s identity — all while maintaining the brand’s cultural relevance and premium aesthetic.
You Are
A Design Manager with cultural fluency baked into your DNA — someone who can translate cultural cues into product, anticipate shifts before they hit mainstream, and build collections that feel connected to the world the brand moves in. You understand how New Yorkers and global subcultures dress, move, work, celebrate, and express themselves — and you can channel that lived reality into modern luxury.
What You Bring
- 8–12+ years of experience in women’s design across multi‑category contemporary or culture‑driven brands, streetwear, or luxury casualwear
- Strong foundation in RTW, tailoring, fleece, and modern wardrobe essentials
- Focused on premium materials and elevated everyday essentials.”
- Ability to evolve a brand’s identity while honoring its core DNA
- Proven experience managing and developing design teams — elevating talent, sharpening creative output, and maintaining a high standard across all categories.
- Operational strength — calendar management, workflow oversight, and cross‑functional alignment
- A pulse on culture, community, and emerging trends — leading trends rather than following them
- A portfolio that reflects modern silhouettes, premium materials, and cultural awareness
