Job Description
We’re building a technology platform for large importers who need to track their shipments from the moment a container departs an overseas port through the entire lifecycle — ocean transit, U.S. port arrival, customs clearance, drayage to the distribution center, and final gate-out confirmation.
We use AI tools heavily — including Claude — to generate, iterate, and debug code. Your job is not to write everything from scratch. Your job is to take what’s built, deploy it properly, connect it to real databases and APIs, and keep it running and growing.
We will teach you the logistics side. You teach us the code side.
If you’re the kind of developer who knows how to work smart, learn fast, and get things shipped — this is a career-defining opportunity. You’ll have more responsibility and ownership here than you’d get at year 5 of a corporate dev job.
What You’ll Do
- Deploy React web apps and PWAs to production hosting (Vercel, Netlify, or similar)
- Set up and manage a Supabase backend — tables, authentication, real-time subscriptions
- Connect third-party APIs — terminal data feeds, Twilio SMS, OCR camera vendors, EDI systems
- Maintain and iterate on the platform as new features are built
- Collaborate directly with the founder on priorities and technical decisions
- Work alongside AI tools daily — you should be comfortable using Claude, Cursor, or similar
What You Need
- 1–3 years of real coding experience — side projects count if they’re deployed and working
- Solid React fundamentals — you can read, understand, and modify React code confidently
- Basic backend knowledge — API calls, databases, authentication flows
- Experience deploying something to a live URL — doesn’t matter how small
- Comfortable with Git and version control
- Fast learner — the stack will grow and you need to grow with it
What You Don’t Need
- A CS degree
- Logistics or freight industry experience
- 5 years of experience
- To have built everything yourself from scratch
What You Get
- $65,000 – $80,000 base salary
- Performance bonus tied to platform milestones
- Full ownership over a real platform used by real clients
- Direct access to the founder — no layers, no bureaucracy
- We teach you the logistics industry from day one — ports, containers, carriers, the whole operation
- Remote flexible
- Clear path to senior developer or tech lead as the platform scales
How to Apply
Send your resume and show us something you’ve built — a GitHub link, a live URL, anything that runs. No cover letter needed. Just show us your work.
