Job Description
About Beacon Boxx
Beacon Boxx is an AI-powered health and home safety platform combining wearable data, real-time monitoring, and emergency response systems to detect and predict medical events before they happen.
We’re building at the intersection of healthtech, AI, IoT, and smart home security —with real users, real traction, and an ambitious roadmap.
The Opportunity
This is not a typical internship.
You will work directly with the founder and senior developers to build live features used by real users across mobile & backend systems . This role is ideal for someone who wants exposure to end-to-end product development —from frontend UI to backend services and cloud infrastructure.
What You’ll Work On
- Build and refine iOS app features (Swift / SwiftUI) (primary focus)
- Support development of AWS-based backend services (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, etc.)
- Help define and optimize user workflows across mobile and web
- Participate in product design, feature ideation, and architecture discussions
Technologies You’ll Be Exposed To
- Mobile: Swift, SwiftUI (primary), optional cross-platform frameworks like Kotlin for Android
- Backend: REST APIs, Node.js/Python (exposure level varies)
- Cloud: AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, Cognito)
What We’re Looking For
- Interest in mobile and/or full-stack development
- Experience with Swift, SwiftUI, backend APIs, & Node.js
- Curiosity about how systems connect end-to-end
- Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn quickly
- Bonus: GitHub projects, personal apps, or hackathon experience
What You’ll Gain
- Hands-on experience building a real, production-grade platform
- Exposure to full-stack architecture (mobile → API → cloud backend)
- Direct mentorship from experienced product and technical leaders
- Insight into startup building, product-market fit, and scaling
- Opportunity to transition into a long-term or full-time role
Why This Role is Different
Most internships give you a narrow task. This one gives you ownership across the stack .
Growth & Upside Opportunity
We’re looking for someone who wants to grow with the company , not just complete an internship.
Top performers in this role will have access to:
Performance-Based Bonus
- End-of-internship bonus ($1,000–$3,000+) based on contribution, ownership, and impact
Path to Full-Time Role
- Opportunity to transition into a paid part-time or full-time engineering role
Early Exposure to Startup Building
- Direct involvement in product decisions, architecture discussions, and roadmap planning
Potential Equity Participation (Select Candidates)
- High-performing interns may be considered for early-stage equity participation as part of a long-term role
How to Apply
Send:
- Resume in PDF format ONLY
- GitHub or portfolio (if available)
- A short note on what you’ve built (or want to build)
*NOTE: This role IS NOT for recruitment agencies, product development companies, nor anyone who is not currently in college in the USA, ideally Texas based.
