Role: Snowflake Cortex AI Architect

Title: VP/Director

Location: NYC, NY

Mode of Work: 3 days/week onsite

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced Snowflake Cortex AI Architect to join our New York City team at the VP/Director level. The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of experience in data engineering and architecture, with deep hands-on expertise in Snowflake Cortex AI capabilities. This is a senior, high-impact role responsible for designing and leading enterprise-scale AI-powered data solutions, driving architectural decisions, and partnering with senior business and technology stakeholders to deliver cutting-edge data and AI platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and lead the design of enterprise-scale Snowflake Cortex AI solutions including LLM functions, Cortex Analyst, Cortex Search, and Document AI
• Define and own the technical architecture and roadmap for Snowflake-based AI and data platforms
• Lead the design and implementation of scalable data pipelines, data models, and warehousing solutions optimized for performance and cost efficiency
• Drive the adoption of Snowpark (Python/Java/Scala) for advanced data engineering and ML workflows
• Establish and enforce architectural standards, best practices, and governance frameworks for Snowflake and Cortex AI implementations
• Lead integration of vector databases and embedding models into AI-powered data workflows
• Oversee data pipeline orchestration using Airflow, dbt, Matillion, or similar tools
• Partner with senior business stakeholders, data scientists, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable AI and data architecture solutions
• Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical governance across data engineering teams
• Mentor and guide senior data engineers and analysts on Snowflake and AI best practices
• Ensure all solutions meet data security, privacy, compliance, and governance requirements — particularly in regulated financial services environments
• Stay current with Snowflake product releases and Cortex AI advancements and proactively recommend adoption of new capabilities

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering and architecture
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake — architecture, administration, and optimization
• Deep hands-on expertise with Snowflake Cortex — LLM functions, Cortex Analyst, Cortex Search, and Document AI
• Strong SQL skills and advanced experience with Snowpark (Python/Java/Scala)
• Proven experience architecting and delivering enterprise data pipeline solutions using Airflow, dbt, Matillion, or similar orchestration tools
• Expert-level knowledge of data modeling, warehousing concepts, and performance optimization
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms — AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Proven track record of leading and delivering large-scale technical projects at senior level
• Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, global, matrixed environment
• Experience in financial services or other regulated industries
