Azure Sql Data Base Administrator

We are looking for an experienced SQL Database Administrator (SQL DBA) with strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server administration, performance tuning, High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), and Azure SQL technologies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing mission-critical SQL Server environments across Windows and virtualized platforms, ensuring high availability, security, and optimal database performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer, monitor, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server environments (20082019/2022).
• Perform SQL Server installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and migrations.

• Design, implement, and support High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) solutions, including:

• Always On Availability Groups
• Log Shipping
• Database Mirroring
• Replication

• Windows Failover Clustering

• Execute backup and recovery strategies, disaster recovery testing, and database restoration activities.
• Monitor database health, troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, and optimize CPU, memory, I/O, and storage utilization.
• Perform advanced T-SQL query tuning, execution plan analysis, and code reviews.
• Manage SQL Server Agent Jobs, alerts, maintenance plans, and automation.
• Conduct database integrity checks using DBCC commands and manage index maintenance, fragmentation, and statistics.
• Support database migration projects using Data Migration Assistant (DMA), SSIS/DTS, and Azure migration tools.
• Implement and maintain database security, encryption, auditing, and compliance standards.
• Collaborate with application teams to resolve database-related issues and improve application performance.
• Prepare technical documentation, operational procedures, and disaster recovery runbooks.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong experience as a SQL DBA in Windows and virtualized environments.
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2008–2019/2022 administration and operations.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server migrations, upgrades, and version consolidations.
• Strong experience with HA/DR technologies, including Always On Availability Groups, Log Shipping, Mirroring, Replication, and Failover Clustering.
• Advanced T-SQL development, query optimization, and performance tuning skills.
• Expertise in backup/restore strategies, recovery models, DBCC commands, integrity checks, index maintenance, and database optimization.
• Experience managing SQL Server Agent Jobs, alerts, scheduling, and maintenance automation.
• Knowledge of SQL Profiler, Extended Events, SSIS/DTS, and Data Migration Assistant (DMA).
• Strong troubleshooting skills related to CPU, memory, disk I/O, storage latency, and blocking/deadlocks.
• Experience with Azure SQL Database, SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines, and Azure database migration projects.
• Good understanding of database security, encryption, auditing, and patch management.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
