Job Description
Intro to Take Root Therapy:
Take Root Therapy is an LGBTQIA+ affirming, culturally-sensitive group psychotherapy practice in Los Feliz and Atwater Village. Our guiding principles are curiosity, compassion, and living with intention. We work with adults, couples, and adolescents to provide high-quality, personalized therapy services.
We’re looking for an experienced, organized Care Coordinator/Administrative Assistant who is warm, effective, and genuinely curious about people to join our small team as a W-2 employee.
Job Description
Our ideal candidate is energized by working directly with people, highly organized and detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. This role also involves regular writing, so strong written communication skills matter a lot here, whether that’s a warm email to a prospective client or a contribution to our blog.
Availability & Location
This is a full-time role, 32-40 hours per week depending on skills and preference. The role is primarily remote, with one day per week required in our Atwater Village office.
Duties Include
- Conducting 20-minute phone intakes with potential clients: understanding what they’re looking for, connecting them with the right therapist, and answering questions about the practice
- Replying to email inquiries from prospective and current clients
- Managing client intake paperwork in SimplePractice
- Troubleshooting administrative issues for current clients and staff
- Assisting with HR duties, including payroll and onboarding
- Contributing to monthly blog articles, newsletters, and pitches to publications
- Community outreach and social media management
- Light office upkeep (watering plants, ordering supplies)
Qualifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Naturally curious and non-judgmental
- Strong writing and speaking skills
- Interest in designing and managing content for social media
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
- Skilled at active listening and conveying empathy
- Experience in an assistant or customer service role
- Comfortable interacting with and affirming a diverse population (LGBTQ+, People of Color, Disability Status, etc.)
- A home workspace conducive to focused work and confidential calls during telecommuting hours
- Clinical psychology background a plus
- Open-minded and trainable in how our practice operates
- Able to commit to at least a year in this role
Compensation and Benefits
- $28-30/hour, dependent on skill level and experience
- A supportive environment in a practice focused on supporting others
- 40 hours of paid time off annually (sick or vacation)
- Full medical and dental benefits after 60 days
- Employer-sponsored 401k
