Field Project Manager – Security / Fire / Building Systems
Location: Noblesville / Indianapolis, IN
Job Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $75,000–$80,000/year, W2
About the Role: Our client’s growing systems integration company is seeking a Field Project Manager to oversee the on-site execution of fire alarm, electronic security, building automation, and other low-voltage projects throughout the Indianapolis market. This field-focused leadership role is responsible for supervising technicians and subcontractors, coordinating project activities, maintaining installation quality, and ensuring projects are completed within scope, schedule, and budget.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on field leader who can manage site operations while remaining technically involved in installation, programming, startup, testing, troubleshooting, and customer training. Responsibilities include planning and directing field work, mentoring technicians, coordinating subcontractors, monitoring project progress, identifying and communicating risks, recommending scope adjustments when necessary, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes, specifications, and company standards. The Field Project Manager will also support system commissioning, certification, service activities, and the maintenance of accurate project documentation.
Top 3 Qualifications:
- 5–7 years strong hands-on installation and troubleshooting ability involving one or more of the following: Electronic security systems, Fire alarm and life safety systems, Building automation systems, or other related low-voltage systems
- Experience supervising technicians, installers, and subcontractors
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record to be able to travel regularly to local jobsites with minimal overnight travel
Preferred Experiences:
- College degree, trade school education, or equivalent field experience
- Experience with programming, startup, certification, and customer training
- Experience leading projects in active commercial or industrial environments
