Java Backend Developer

Job Role : Java Backend Developer

Location : Chicago, IL (3 days onsite per week)

W2 Contract

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 8+ years of Java backend development experience.
• Strong experience with Java 17/21 , Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, and Spring Security.
• Hands-on experience developing Microservices and REST APIs.
• Strong knowledge of multithreading, collections, concurrency, and JVM performance tuning.
• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging platforms.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, or SQL Server.
• Experience with Git, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

AI / GenAI Requirements

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with AI/Generative AI solutions.
• Experience integrating OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Llama, or other LLMs .
• Experience building AI-powered APIs and conversational applications.
• Knowledge of RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architecture.
• Experience with vector databases such as Pinecone, ChromaDB, Milvus, pgvector, or FAISS.
• Experience with AI frameworks such as LangChain4j, Spring AI, LangGraph, or LlamaIndex .
• Understanding of prompt engineering, embeddings, semantic search, and AI orchestration.
