Chief AI Officer

Position Summary

The Chief AI Officer (CAIO) is the strategic and intellectual leader of AI Studio’s enterprise transformation practice, and someone credit unions across the country turn to when they need a trusted guide through their AI transformation. This is not a back-office technology role; it is a market-facing, credibility-defining role. The ideal candidate is a seasoned executive who blends deep AI fluency with exceptional communication skills, consulting/advisory/project execution acumen, and a genuine passion for the credit union movement.

This individual will serve as AI Studio’s most visible subject-matter authority, presenting to boards, executive teams, and industry audiences; designing and delivering strategic AI transformation engagements; and building the frameworks, content, and self-guided tools that scale AI Studio’s impact across the industry. The CAIO translates the complexity of artificial intelligence into clear, actionable, and responsible strategy and execution for one of the most purpose-driven industries in the world.

This is a remote position with periodic travel required up to 50%.

Key Responsibilities

Transformation Practice & Credit Union Delivery

• Lead the delivery of AI transformation consulting to credit unions nationally, guiding institutions from understanding AI, to evaluating it safely, to realizing its value with confidence.

• Coordinate with Marketing to develop and deliver effective and compelling interactive topic delivery and Q&A sessions (“CAIO Hours”).

• Serve as trusted advisor to credit union leadership, tailoring AI strategy and consulting engagements to each institution’s size, maturity, risk posture, and member mission.

• Ensure every engagement reflects responsible, human-centered, and compliant AI practices appropriate to a regulated financial services environment.

• Design frameworks and client-facing presentations that enable effective communication, deliverable delivery, and best-practice sharing.

• Define and champion enterprise AI strategy, governance frameworks, and ethical, responsible-use standards that credit unions can adopt with confidence.

• Build out and scale AI Studio’s enterprise transformation practice as needs evolve. Includes internal resources, strategic partners, and offerings.

• Refinement of existing engagement packages and introduction of new packages and solutions as member credit union needs evolve.

• Stay abreast of AI Risk and Regulatory developments to adequately advise and incorporate AI risk management, bias mitigation, data privacy, model transparency, and regulatory compliance within the financial services context.

• Communicate effectively and credibly across every audience: board members, C-suite executives, technologists, front-line member-facing and back-office employees, and credit union industry partners.

• Coordinate with other AI Studio resources e.g. Project Management/Client Success & Operations, Workforce Enablement Manager, Risk & Regulatory Manager, CTO, Marketing & Comms, etc to ensure high-quality delivery to credit union clients.

• Oversees strategic partnerships within the Enterprise Transformation practice to fulfill delivery needs, maintain quality standards, and generate sufficient economic value for AI Studio.

Thought Leadership & Industry Representation

• Deliver compelling presentations to credit union boards, executive teams, and at national and regional industry events, serving as a visible thought leader and spokesperson for AI Studio.

• Actively participate and represent AI Studio at industry conferences and events.

• Represent AI Studio as the resident AI expert in high-stakes settings, including keynotes, panels, webinars, and executive briefings.

• Develop and deliver timely and ongoing insights and thought leadership content for member credit unions and the industry. Stay at the leading edge of AI, generative AI, machine learning, and automation trends, translating emerging capability into practical credit union application.

• Establish AI Studio’s voice as the definitive authority on innovative and responsible AI for credit unions through publications, frameworks, and educational programming.

• Cultivate AI Studio’s visibility in trade publications, industry associations, and credit union media channels.
