Job Description
p>Tech Pipeline is looking for a Junior React Developer to help us fix the broken middle of business processes for a major financial services provider. We focus on solving operational drag by bridging the gap between existing tools and the work that actually needs to get done. This is a full-time, remote position where you will work directly on the interfaces that financial operators use every day.
About the role We often see companies where the tech stack has outgrown the team, leaving finance or operations staff to reconcile data by hand. In this role, you will help build and refine React-based interfaces that replace these manual steps. You will be looking at how data flows from the backend to the UI, ensuring that when an operator opens the system, they see a clear source of truth rather than a backlog of errors. Since we are a remote company, you will spend your time tracing specific integration gaps and helping us rewrite the rules that keep business processes moving. We do not value abstract strategy: we value developers who can look at the logs and figure out why an approval chain is stuck in an email thread instead of the system.
What you will be doing
- Updating React components to better reflect the routing rules used by our financial services client.
- Reading logs and using browser developer tools to identify why specific data points are not displaying correctly.
- Building simple, functional interfaces that help teams manage their reconciliation backlogs.
- Testing new UI elements against actual operational workflows to ensure they reduce friction for the end user.
- Reviewing existing front-end code to find and fix small bugs that cause delays in financial approval chains.
- Collaborating with the backend team to ensure the data reaching the browser is accurate and delivered in the correct format.
- Writing clear documentation for every change you make so the client can manage the system once our engagement ends.
- Participating in code reviews to learn our standards for clean, maintainable React code.
What we need from you
- Basic knowledge of React and modern JavaScript, including common hooks and component lifecycles.
- A clear understanding of how to work with HTML and CSS to build functional, accessible web pages.
- Familiarity with using Git for version control and collaborating on code within a team.
- Strong attention to detail, especially when it comes to matching UI behavior with the technical requirements of the finance team.
- Ability to communicate technical problems clearly in writing, as we rely heavily on written updates.
- A logical approach to troubleshooting where you look at the data and logs before jumping to conclusions.
- Willingness to learn how business operations and financial data routing actually work behind the scenes.
Helpful background
- Previous exposure to financial tools or basic knowledge of how accounting reconciliation works.
- Experience fetching data from a REST service or working with API integration in a project setting.
- A personal project or internship where you had to solve a specific technical problem for a real user.
- Basic familiarity with state management patterns or libraries commonly used in React applications.
What the role offers
- Full-time, permanent employment in a fully remote environment.
- Competitive pay that is attractive for entry-level developers in the current market.
- Direct experience working on high-stakes systems for a major financial services provider.
- A practical learning environment where you focus on solving real problems rather than theoretical exercises.
- Mentorship from engineers who value ground truth and technical clarity over corporate jargon.
- The chance to see your work immediately reduce the manual workload for actual human operators.
Working at Tech Pipeline Working at Tech Pipeline means focusing on the technical reality of how work moves. We are a remote team that values documentation over long meetings, using weekly updates to stay aligned. We do not stay with clients for years: we fix the problem, stay through the first month of live operation to ensure it sticks, and then we hand over a system the client can run themselves. Our culture is grounded in getting the details right and making sure the numbers stop drifting. We expect everyone to be able to read the logs, trace the problem, and deliver a fix that works in the real world without unnece…
