FAMILY ASSISTANT (WHITESTONE)

A warm, family-oriented household in Whitestone, Queens is seeking an experienced and dependable Part-Time Nanny / Family Assistant to support their growing family. The family has a 3-year-old child and an infant who will be approximately 8 months old at the start of the position.

This is primarily a childcare-focused role with light family assistant responsibilities, particularly on Mondays. The ideal candidate is confident caring for both infants and toddlers, knowledgeable about developmental milestones, and comfortable helping keep a busy family household organized.

The family has a close-knit, “village-style” dynamic, with extended family living nearby and occasionally stopping in or assisting throughout the week. They are looking for someone who will feel comfortable becoming part of this warm and supportive environment.

POSITION DETAILS

Schedule:
Monday, Wednesday & Thursday
8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Approximately 20–25 hours per week

Some schedule flexibility is appreciated.

CHILDREN

• 3-year-old child
• Infant, approximately 8 months old at start

CHILDCARE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide attentive, engaging care for both the infant and toddler
• Manage the infant’s daily feeding, bottle preparation, naps, diapering, and age-appropriate routines
• Clean and sanitize bottles and feeding supplies
• Support infant developmental milestones and the eventual introduction of solids
• Plan age-appropriate developmental play and activities
• Assist with the 3-year-old’s school drop-off and pick-up routine
• Prepare lunch and assist with the toddler’s after-school nap routine
• Maintain consistent daily routines for both children
• Organize children’s bedrooms, play areas, toys, and belongings
• Handle light tidying and cleaning related specifically to the children

FAMILY ASSISTANT RESPONSIBILITIES

Family assistant responsibilities will primarily take place on Mondays and may include:

• Family laundry
• Occasional grocery or household shopping
• Pick-ups and drop-offs
• Light household organization
• Other reasonable household support as needed

IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Warm, dependable, patient, and family-oriented
• Confident caring for an infant and toddler simultaneously
• Strong knowledge of infant feeding stages, weaning, and developmental milestones
• Organized and proactive
• Comfortable working in a home where parents work remotely
• Comfortable with extended family occasionally being present
• Interested in establishing a long-term relationship with the family

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 5 years of professional nanny or childcare experience
• Professional infant care experience required
• CPR, AED & First Aid certification for infants and children required
• English fluency required
• Greek speaking is a strong plus
• COVID and flu vaccination preferred

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
