Graphic Design Intern

Locations:

Los Angeles or New York City (in-office required)

Commitment: 5 days per week, 4 to 6 months

Rate: $25 per hour

About the Role

SMUGGLER is seeking a Graphic Design Intern to join our creative team. This is a hands-on opportunity to contribute directly to the visual development of treatments, pitch materials, and brand assets in a fast-paced environment at the intersection of film, advertising, experiences, and design. You’ll work closely with our in-house design team, directors, executives, and researchers to develop compelling visual presentations that bring big ideas to life.

The SMUGGLER executive team consists of a highly accomplished and dedicated group of producers, creatives, and managers with unparalleled production experience across a myriad of mediums and projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Design persuasive, visually striking pitch decks and marketing materials aligned with brand and brief
• Conduct image research and curate reference visuals that support storytelling and concept development
• Maintain an organized archive of research materials and project assets
• Design presentations using Adobe Creative Suite, Readymag, Figma, and Google Workspace
• Translate ideas into clear, engaging visual narratives for multiple platforms (print, digital, social)
• Collaborate with directors and executives to refine presentations based on creative feedback and project needs
• Collaborate with the design team, producers, and creatives on special projects (theatre, immersive experiences, and activations)



Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (especially InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
• Strong understanding of branding, layout, typography, and current design trends
• Experience in print systems
• Excellent communication, time management, and collaboration skills
• Strong portfolio demonstrating design, creativity, and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently or as part of a team
• Passion for film, media, and storytelling
• Knowledge of social media design formats and best practices
• Prior experience in entertainment, advertising, or designing treatments for commercial pitches is a bonus
• Ability to create AI images and videos
