Responsibilities & Qualifications

The Opportunity

Based in New York City, you’ll manage and deliver major Rail + Transit projects for agencies such as MTA, Amtrak, PANYNJ, NJ Transit, LIRR, Metro-North, and others. You’ll also have opportunities to collaborate on national pursuits with agencies like WMATA, SEPTA, and CTA.

You’ll lead a talented team of engineers and designers, build strong client relationships, and deliver projects that improve regional and national mobility.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and deliver complex Rail + Transit design projects, from early planning through final design.
• Serve as a trusted point of contact for clients, ensuring quality and exceptional service.
• Mentor and support junior and mid-level engineers, fostering growth and career development.
• Collaborate with senior leaders nationwide to pursue new opportunities and strengthen our Rail + Transit practice.
• Represent the company at client meetings, industry events, and professional associations in New York and beyond.
• Play a key role in project pursuits, including proposal development, strategy, and presentations.

What You Bring

• A degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Professional Engineer (PE) license in NY strongly preferred.
• Proven success delivering Rail + Transit engineering design projects, programs, or on-call assignments for major agencies.
• 10+ years of relevant experience, with deep expertise in Rail + Transit projects.
• Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring and motivating teams.
• Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
• Ability to balance technical delivery, business development, and team growth responsibilities.

Additional Information

TYLin is committed to pay equity.As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $150,000 - $230,000 annually for this position and local market. We recognize that each candidate brings a unique set of skills, experience, education and competencies to the table that will be reflected in our offer.
