Motion Graphics Designer

Our client, a global CPG company, is looking for a Motion Graphics Designer to join a newly formed and growing motion team on a freelance basis. Ideally, you’re local to NYC and able to go onsite 1-2 days per week in the downtown office. This role is ~2 months to start, with the opportunity to extend for the right person.

In this role, the Motion Graphics Designer will be creating branded motion pieces to be used across digital, OOH, brand activations, toolkits, social, etc. for a range of well known beverage brands. You’ll be joining a team of two, working on both designing and animating graphics. Responsibilities include:

• Receiving a complex Illustrator project, prepping it for animation in After Effects, and confidently bringing the scene to life with keyframed properties and effects

• Be able to fill in gaps during the animation process; e.g., recreate existing elements in new perspectives as needed

• Create rough animatics/motion sketches to demonstrate concepts; this work would be used in pitch decks and needs to be executed quickly

• Comfortably flexing between projects for different brands with distinct design systems daily

Requirements for the Motion Graphics Designer include:

• At least 1-2+ years of animation and motion design experience

• Contemporary, fun design and animation style

• Strong executional skills

• Portfolio of work that demonstrates excellent sense of timing, detail and animation fundamentals

• Strong understanding of working file builds

• Excellent Illustrator, Photoshop and AfterEffects skills; 3D skills (Cinema 4D or Blendr) are a plus but not required! 

• Excited to work in a fast-paced, fun environment

• Curious, inquisitive and eager to learn and build skills

• Own laptop!
