PPCCC also provides comprehensive sexuality education programs to help adults and teens make healthy decisions, prevent unintended pregnancies, and avoid sexually transmitted infection.

Job Summary:

The Virtual Health Care Assistant I will work directly with the Virtual Clinician I to provide direct telephone and video healthcare visits. Responsible for direct patient care, maintaining and monitoring teleconferencing system schedules, collaborating with Virtual Clinician I to provide telehealth services. In conjunction with the Center Director and Training Specialist the Virtual Healthcare Assistant I will assist in training new staff in the provision of virtual healthcare.

Essential Functions

Provide direct patient care as HCA I for virtual healthcare.

Continuously monitor and scrub virtual healthcare staff schedules to ensure efficient delivery of service.

Act as primary staff resource for all virtual healthcare.

Act as back up for Call Center Agents and HCA intake in health centers as necessary.

Assess client payer eligibility, which may include verifying insurance, health plan authorization and eligibility for funding sources.

Maintain ongoing and appropriate communication with Case Management RNs (CM-RN) and staff in Health Centers.

Must have thorough understanding health care services appropriate for virtual healthcare.

Must have thorough understanding of using 10 Best Practices to provide contraceptive education over the phone or via video.

Demonstrated proficiency in EPM and EHR. Utilize both virtual and desk computer in EHR. Maintain accurate and current documentation in EHR.

Communicate through telephone, instant messaging, email and EMR tasking when necessary and when explicitly cited as a part providing virtual healthcare.

Perform other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

1 year experience working in a Planned Parenthood health center as a Health Care Assistant or Patient Services Assistant.

Prior experience as a Health Care Assistant preferred

English-Spanish bilingual skills are required

Knowledge of reproductive health care

Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows work environment

Prior EHR work experience

Ability to relate to diverse communities.

Accuracy and attention to detail

Ability to work flexible hours, including Saturdays and evenings when necessary

Each position has a salary based on market value and the organization’s pay levels. The starting salary for this position is $ 26.57/hour with the opportunity for advancement.As part of our commitment to pay equity, PPCCC does not negotiate salaries.

Pay Differential: $1.00/hour bilingual Spanish/English differential pay is offered upon passing the language assessment test.
