Software Engineer (Junior–Mid Level)

Pantas is an AI-first company. Our core platform helps financial institutions and corporates across Southeast Asia measure, manage, and reduce carbon emissions and ESG risk. But we’re also an AI startup building AI Twins — demographically accurate AI agents that simulate how real audiences respond to strategy, messaging, and products.

If you’re looking for another job wiring up forms and database tables, this isn’t it. What “AI-first” actually means here

• Your CEO codes — and runs monthly AI workshops. Our founders build alongside the team, leading deep-dives on prompting, agents, MCP, context engineering, and harness engineering. Rare air for a junior engineer.
• A flat team doing advanced agentic work. No layers to navigate — just a small group of like-minded engineers building at the frontier of agentic AI. We provide the proper guidance, tooling, and infrastructure; you bring the drive to build.
• AI is the default, not a side team. Everyone — including non-technical roles — uses Claude Code and Codex daily to prototype, script, and automate. We share playbooks so adoption compounds.
• Best-in-class coding infra. Claude Code is our primary assistant plus OpenAI Codex, and more. Use whatever ships the task.
• You build GenAI products, not just code with AI. Work on LLM-based extraction, document understanding, decision support, and our AI Twins simulation products — across frontier and open-source models (GPT, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, Qwen, Kimi, GLM) and modern infra (Databricks, OpenRouter, HuggingFace, Vertex AI).
• You’ll learn context & harness engineering — architecting the guardrails and orchestration that let AI agents run reliably at scale.

What you’ll do

Build backend/full-stack services for our ESG platform and AI agent products. Turn AI-generated PRDs into production-grade code. Contribute to AI Twins with LLMs and orchestration frameworks. Prototype fast with AI, then refine into stable features with product and data science. Integrate external systems (banks, partners) and keep data clean and auditable.

What you’ll need

• ~1–3 years in backend or full-stack roles (strong internships and personal/open-source projects count).
• Working skills in a modern backend stack (Python/Django, Node.js) and SQL.
• Experience building web apps or APIs — production, coursework, or serious side projects.
• Comfort in a fast-moving startup: iterative shipping, ambiguity, cross-functional work.
• A real AI-first mindset — you already treat AI as part of your engineering stack.

Nice to have: cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure), data/ML infra (Databricks, Vertex AI, OpenRouter), LLM-powered features (MCP, prompt orchestration, agentic workflows).

Show us your work

This is the part that matters most. We’ll ask you to show something real you’ve built with AI — an agent, an automation, a tool, an LLM-powered feature, an infra experiment. It doesn’t need to be production software or a launched product. Side projects, hackathons, open-source, and self-directed work all count.

For your best example, tell us:

• the problem or objective,
• what you personally built,
• the AI tools and models you used,
• the result or value it produced,
• and a link, repo, demo, or screenshot (a concise write-up is fine where code is private).

Listing tools you’ve tried, courses you’ve finished, or chats you’ve had with an AI is not enough. We want evidence you’ve built something.

What this role is not

It is not an intro AI training ground for people who are interested in AI but haven’t yet built anything with it. We’ll deepen and sharpen real ability fast — we won’t teach applied AI from zero. If you’ve already shipped something with AI, you’ll thrive here.
