ANTE is a sports betting and social platform designed to give everyday bettors the kind of tools, UX, and edge that used to be reserved for sharps and syndicates. We’re building a mobile‑first experience where props, picks, and performance feel closer to your favorite consumer app than a spreadsheet with odds pasted on top.

From quick wagers on a busy day to deep dives before tip‑off, ANTE aims to make betting and fantasy feel more intuitive, social, and fun without sacrificing clarity or control.

ANTE is its own product and entity being built inside Aukui Labs, an early-stage product studio focused on sports, gaming, and interactive products.

Role Overview:

We are hiring a Founding Frontend Engineer (Product & UX) to own the user-facing experience of ANTE.

This is a founding, equity-only role where you will work directly with the founder to design, build, and iterate on the core product experience. You’ll be responsible for turning product ideas and user feedback into polished, high‑quality interfaces on mobile (and some web), and for setting the standards for our frontend stack and UX practices.

• Location: Remote (Europe time zones or US West; reliable overlap with PST required)
• Type: Early-stage, high-ownership role
• Compensation: Equity only for now (no cash salary until funding / revenue)

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain responsive, mobile‑first user interfaces for the ANTE app and supporting web surfaces using modern frontend technologies.
• Translate product requirements, sketches, and user feedback into clear flows, screens, and interactions.
• Build and maintain reusable UI components and a lightweight design system to enable fast, consistent iteration.
• Collaborate closely with backend engineers to integrate APIs, define data contracts, and handle loading, error, and empty states gracefully.
• Optimize the frontend for performance, accessibility, and smooth user interactions, especially on mobile devices.
• Contribute to product discovery by proposing UX improvements, experiments, and new interaction patterns based on user behavior.
• Help define frontend best practices, tooling, and conventions as one of the earliest technical hires on the team.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude/ChatGPT, etc) to move faster while still maintaining high code quality and thoughtful UX.

Minimum Qualifications

We are open to experienced engineers and strong emerging talent (including recent graduates) who can demonstrate capability and taste through projects.

• Proficiency in modern frontend development (e.g., React / React Native / Next.js or similar, plus JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS).
• Experience building and shipping user-facing applications or substantial projects (professional, personal, open‑source, freelance, or academic).
• Solid understanding of responsive and mobile‑first design principles.
• Ability to work with APIs and backend engineers, including handling loading, error, and edge cases in the UI.
• Strong interest in user experience: you care about flows, usability, interaction patterns, and how the product feels—not just whether it “works.”
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, and comfort working in a low‑process, high‑ownership environment.
• Demonstrate ability to use AI tools productively (e.g., Copilot, Cursor, Claude/ChatGPT) for code generation, refactoring, and ideation—without relying on them as a crutch.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with mobile application development (React Native, Expo, Flutter, or native iOS/Android).
• Prior work on consumer products, social products, gaming, or sports‑related applications.
• Familiarity with design tools such as Figma or Sketch and willingness to collaborate on UX and visual design.
• Exposure to analytics or experimentation (A/B testing, feature flags, or similar).
• Interest in sports, sports betting, daily fantasy, or sports analytics.

• Experience building workflows around AI tools (prompting, reviewing, and editing generated code and designs) and clear opinions on when  not

   to use them
