About the Role

Working in home care is more than just a job — it’s the chance to make a real difference in someone’s everyday life. At Respect, our Independence at Home services help older Australians remain safe, comfortable, and connected in the place they value most — their own home. You’ll build meaningful, one-on-one relationships with participants and their families, tailoring support to individual needs while promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing. From assisting with daily living and social engagement to supporting clinical and nursing care, every interaction matters. Join a compassionate, reliable team where your work truly impacts lives and every day feels purposeful.

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Home Care Assistant to deliver person-centred support to clients in their own homes as our services continue to grow.

This is a part-time position based in Western Sydney, NSW, primarily servicing the Seven Hills, Blacktown and Baulkham Hills areas. The successful candidate must also be willing to travel to the surrounding areas of Mount Druitt, Rouse Hill and Epping.

In this role, you will support clients to maintain their independence and live safely and comfortably in their own homes. Duties include providing personal care, assisting with domestic tasks, meal preparation, shopping, and transporting clients to appointments and community activities.

To be considered for this role, you must hold a Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support, Disability, or a related qualification, along with a current First Aid Certificate, a valid driver’s licence, and access to a registered and insured vehicle.

If you’re passionate about making a meaningful difference in people’s lives and enjoy building genuine connections while working independently, we’d love to hear from you.

No two days are the same! As Home Care Assistant you will:

  • Support clients to achieve and maintain wellbeing and independence, delivering care in line with individual care plans, goals, and service plans.
  • Provide direct personal care assistance, including bathing, hygiene, dressing, grooming, mobility support, lifting, meal preparation, and fitting of aids as required.
  • Undertake domestic assistance such as cleaning, laundry, food preparation, and shopping, ensuring a safe and comfortable home environment.
  • Offer social support and transport services to enable clients to participate in community life, attend appointments, and maintain social connections.
  • Monitor client health and wellbeing, including medication where trained and competent, and promptly report any changes in condition, behaviour, or environment to the Home Care Manager.
  • Maintain professional, respectful relationships with clients, ensuring appropriate boundaries, accurate documentation, and a positive representation of Respect in the community, while supporting reablement and independence.

About You

You’ll thrive with us if you have:

  • Hold a Certificate III in Aged Care, Disability, or equivalent, and a current National Police Certificate (or ability to obtain).
  • Be physically able to perform role responsibilities safely and effectively.
  • Maintain First Aid certification (within 3 years), driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and comprehensive work-use vehicle insurance.
