Software Engineer Intern

About the role

La Calisto Sdn Bhd is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Software Engineer Intern to join our Technology team. This is a full-time position based in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, offering a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in software development within a dynamic and growing organisation.

As an intern, you will work alongside experienced team members to support the development of internal systems, applications, and digital solutions. You will be involved in real projects, contributing to system enhancements, feature development, and process improvements while building your technical and problem-solving skills.

This role plays an important part in supporting our digital transformation initiatives and will provide you with exposure to various aspects of software engineering in a fast-paced retail and technology-driven environment.

What You’ll Do

1. Development: Assist in building and enhancing internal systems and applications.
2. Feature Implementation: Support development of new features and system improvements.
3. Debugging & Testing: Identify issues, fix bugs, and ensure system performance.
4. Data & Integration: Work with APIs, databases, and system integrations.
5. Documentation: Maintain technical documentation and system workflows.
6. Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams (operations, marketing, retail).
7. Research: Explore new technologies, tools, and solutions to improve efficiency.

What We’re Looking For

1. Diploma/degree student or recent graduate in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
2. Strong interest in software development, systems, and technology.
3. Basic knowledge in programming (e.g. JavaScript, Python, or similar).
4. Familiarity with web/app development, databases, or APIs is a plus.
5. Problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
6. Good communication and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
