Job Description
Settl X builds agentic, explainable compliance infrastructure for stablecoin rails: AI-powered alert triage, continuous KYT/KYB, SAR drafting, and audit-ready decision trails for crypto exchanges, PSPs/PGs, and RWA platforms.
Stablecoins are becoming real financial infrastructure. Compliance is the bottleneck. We’re building the layer that removes it.
The role
Forward Deployed Engineer
You’ll sit directly with customers — compliance leads, risk officers, founders — understand their workflows, deploy Settl X into live environments, and close pilots into paid contracts.
This is not a backend role. You’re engineering + sales in one seat.
You’re the reason a demo becomes a deployment.
What you’ll do
Sales-embedded engineering (core)
Join discovery calls as the technical voice — not a passenger, a closer.
Identify what’s actually blocking a deal: workflow fit, integration concerns, trust gaps.
Build scoped demos and prototypes on short notice to unblock stalled conversations.
Handle technical objections: data flows, API integrations, explainability, auditability, model behaviour.
Translate compliance pain into a clear ROI story: review time ↓, false positives ↓, audit effort ↓.
Technical deployment (core)
Deploy Settl X agents into live customer workflows — alerts, KYT queues, SAR pipelines.
Map existing compliance stacks (Chainalysis, LexisNexis, SumSub, Prove) and integrate cleanly.
Own pilots end-to-end: scoping → integration → go-live → iteration.
Rapid iteration based on what surfaces in production — not what was spec’d in a meeting.
Convert messy, undocumented customer workflows into structured product improvements.
Feedback → product loop
Be the primary signal source between customers and the founding team.
Translate friction into concrete feature requests with enough context to act on immediately.
Help prioritise roadmap based on what’s actually blocking revenue.
Must-haves
Strong engineering fundamentals: APIs, webhooks, data pipelines, event logs — you can build and debug integrations independently.
You’ve talked to customers before and cared about the outcome of that conversation.
Comfortable running a demo, handling objections in real time, and following up with a clear next step.
Scrappy — you’ve shipped under pressure with incomplete information.
Curious about stablecoins, AI agents, and how financial compliance workflows actually operate.
On sales skills:
You don’t need a formal sales background. You do need to be someone who takes ownership of whether a customer succeeds — not just whether the code runs. If you’ve never done this before but you’re self-aware and willing to learn fast, we want to hear from you.
If the idea of being in a customer call makes you uncomfortable — this isn’t the role.
Great-to-haves
Experience in fintech, crypto, or payments (compliance tooling a strong plus).
Worked in an early-stage or customer-facing engineering role.
Done technical sales, solution engineering, or customer success with a technical product.
Familiarity with AML, KYC/KYB, transaction monitoring, or sanctions screening.
What’s in it for you
Equity-first compensation — high ownership from day one.
Front-row seat to stablecoin rails + AI compliance infrastructure being built in real time.
Direct access to founders; no layers, fast decisions, real ownership.
Path to founding engineer or product lead based on outcomes.
Not a fit if
You need structured tickets and defined requirements to operate.
You want to build and hand off — someone else selling is not the model here.
How to apply
Email 3–5 lines:
— One thing you’ve built and what broke in production
— One time you had to convince someone (customer, stakeholder, anyone) that something technical was worth doing
— Why stablecoins + AI compliance
No templates. No cover letters.
