AI Automation Engineer (.NET / Azure)

Type: Contract, 18 months + possible Extension

Job Summary

We are seeking an AI Automation Engineer with hands-on experience building LLM-powered applications, AI agents, and intelligent automation solutions on Azure. The ideal candidate will have experience designing multi-step AI workflows, integrating enterprise systems, and leveraging modern AI frameworks and coding tools to automate complex business processes.

Experience with C#/.NET is preferred as the primary development language, but the focus of the role is AI engineering and agent-based automation rather than traditional application development.

Required Skills

• Hands-on experience building AI/LLM-powered applications and automation workflows.
• Experience designing and implementing AI agents and multi-agent systems.
• Strong understanding of prompt engineering, tool calling, and agent orchestration concepts.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure and Azure AI services.
• Proficiency in C#/.NET Core or similar backend technologies.
• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs and microservices.
• Familiarity with AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor, or equivalent.
• Understanding of MCP (Model Context Protocol) and AI agent integrations.
• Experience working with structured and unstructured data for AI-driven use cases.
• Exposure to P&C Insurance workflows is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build AI-powered automation solutions using LLMs and agent-based architectures.
• Develop intelligent workflows involving reasoning, tool usage, API integrations, and decision-making capabilities.
• Build and orchestrate AI agents for business process automation.
• Integrate Azure AI services and enterprise applications to deliver end-to-end automation solutions.
• Develop scalable backend services and APIs supporting AI applications.
• Implement guardrails, monitoring, error handling, and fallback mechanisms for AI workflows.
• Collaborate with business and engineering teams to identify automation opportunities and deliver AI-enabled solutions.
• Drive the adoption of modern AI engineering practices and tools.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Azure OpenAI and Azure AI Foundry.
• Experience with multi-agent frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, Semantic Kernel, or similar.
• Exposure to Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
• Experience with document intelligence and NLP-based solutions.
• Knowledge of containerization and cloud-native deployments on Azure.
• Experience automating insurance workflows such as underwriting, claims processing, or policy administration.
