Location: New York, NY

Contract Duration: 6 months on W2 with possibility for extension/conversion

Pay Rate: $70/hr

Job Overview

We’re looking for an experienced software engineer with a strong background in building web applications and deep proficiency in Python .

In this role, you’ll help develop the next generation of computer-use agents by expanding an app simulation pipeline used for training and evaluation.

You’ll work on a core product: an app simulator for AI agents (OpenApps ecosystem), a system designed to mimic real-world software environments where AI agents can learn and operate.

This role sits at the intersection of product engineering and AI research, contributing directly to frontier advancements in AI systems.

What You’ll Do:

• Scale and evolve our app simulation framework used to train computer-use agents
• Design and build applications that simulate real-world user environments
• Partner with researchers to translate experimental ideas into functional systems
• Contribute to the infrastructure powering next-generation AI agents
• Build polished, intuitive UIs that closely mirror modern software experiences

Team & Impact

You’ll join a team focused on pushing the boundaries of secure, reliable, and scalable AI agents . This is a new initiative centered on advancing computer-use capabilities through high-fidelity simulation.

Success in this role is measured by your ability to deliver impactful features that expand the capabilities of the research environment.

Must-Have Skills

• 5–7 years of software engineering experience
• Python
• Web Development (Python backend)
• Strong product thinking, including UI/UX awareness or design sensibility

Nice-to-Have

• Familiarity or interest in AI research
• Experience working in scrappy, fast-moving environments
• Exposure to end-to-end application development
