About Us
JLG Lawyers is a plaintiff-side employment law firm representing employees in wrongful termination and workplace misconduct cases. We’re looking for a highly organized Legal Assistant to support one of our attorneys directly, managing both his practice and a portion of his day-to-day life so he can stay focused on his cases.
Compensation: $35-40/hour, with occasional overtime and some weekend work
Location: In-person, full-time to start. This role includes regular work from the attorney’s home office, so reliable transportation is required.
What You’ll Do
- Manage and clean up his email inbox, including filing correspondence into organized subfolders
- Schedule and calendar calls with clients and opposing counsel
- Draft correspondence and communications on his behalf
- Handle approximately 20% personal tasks, including personal appointments, errands, and personal travel arrangements, alongside your legal/administrative work
- Use the firm’s existing software systems day to day (no need for prior experience, just willingness to learn our tools)
What We’re Looking For
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, comfortable managing both professional and personal responsibilities
- Strong written communication skills for drafting correspondence
- Reliable vehicle and willingness to work from the attorney’s home office as needed
- Available full-time in person, with flexibility for occasional weekend work
- Comfortable starting with close oversight and earning greater independence over time
