About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Game Developer to join Vox Heretic Studio and help shape a new game project from the ground up.

This is a hands-on role in a small, ambitious indie studio. You won’t just be handed tickets and told to implement features, you’ll help define how the game is built, how systems fit together, and how we solve the big technical problems that come with making something original.

Because we’re a small team, your work will have a direct impact on the game. Your ideas will matter, your decisions will shape the project, and you’ll be working closely with design, art, and audio to bring the whole thing together.

For the right person, there’s also room to grow with the studio long-term. Someone who proves to be a strong technical leader and a committed part of the team could potentially become a shareholder in the future.

What you’ll be doing

• Development on major gameplay features, systems, and tools
• Helping define the game’s technical direction and architecture
• Working closely with designers, artists, and sound engineers to create a cohesive game experience
• Making smart technical decisions that support the creative vision of the project
• Keeping performance, stability, and code quality high
• Setting up and maintaining coding standards and best practices
• Debugging complex issues and finding practical solutions
• Helping the team move efficiently without cutting corners on quality

What we’re looking for

• Strong experience in game development, ideally with multiple shipped titles
• Solid programming skills in languages commonly used in game development, especially C++ and/or C#
• Deep experience with Unreal Engine 5 and its development tools
• A good understanding of game design principles, not just engineering in isolation
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Experience with graphics programming, shaders, rendering, or related systems
• Familiarity with AI programming, physics, or other gameplay-critical systems
• Good communication skills and the ability to work closely with a small creative team
• A real passion for games and a strong personal standard for quality
