Join a global U.S. automotive parts manufacturing company as a Project Manager.

This Project Manager tracks timelines and budgets for new equipment, tooling, launch programs, and new model programs while keeping company management and automotive OEM customers informed of progress.

Job Requirements

• Manage program timelines and budgets from product introduction through launch for specialized equipment, tooling, and manufacturing processes used to build parts for new vehicle models.
• Work closely with Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Sales, suppliers, company management, and customers to communicate project status, timelines, launch timing, delays, cost changes, and cost overruns.
• Track project timelines with manufacturing, engineering, suppliers, and customer teams.
• Work with automotive OEM customers on launch timing, project updates, and program milestones.
• Support NPI - new part / new process introduction, equipment launch, tooling launch, and automotive program launch activities.

Skills / Experience

• 5+ years of experience in automotive product launch and project management or program management or launch management.
• Prior experience with automotive Tier 1 or Tier 2 or automotive OEM.
• Project Management or Program Management experience from an automotive Tier 1 environment is preferred.
• Must have a 3 or 4-year degree in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
• Ability to open CAD drawings and discuss issues such as tooling changes, part changes, or engineering changes requested by internal or external teams. 3D CAD design experience is not required.
• Good understanding of mechanical parts, automotive parts, vehicle systems, and manufacturing processes.
• Solid understanding of NPI, new product introduction, new process introduction, automotive launch, APQP, tooling launch, and equipment launch.
• Prior experience with automotive OEMs is a plus.
