Job Description

About Us

Long Island Counseling Network is a growing outpatient mental health practice serving communities across Long Island. Our clinicians provide therapy and mental health counseling services to individuals and families, and demand for care in our region continues to grow. We are expanding our operations team to keep pace, and we are looking for a Practice Development Manager to work with management on both maintaining daily operations and driving the next stage of growth.

About the Role

This is a hands on role at the center of the business. You will work closely with practice leadership on the projects that directly grow the organization, strengthening our presence with insurance carriers, developing referral relationships throughout Suffolk County, managing our local marketing, and supporting recruitment as we bring on additional clinicians.

The position is structured to reward performance. In addition to base pay, the role includes cash bonuses tied to completed growth projects, along with a defined advancement path to Director of Operations for a strong performer. If you are looking to build a career in healthcare administration or practice management, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage our insurance panel presence. Verify clinician listings across carrier directories, confirm accuracy and new patient availability, file corrections with carriers, and follow through to resolution.
  • Develop and maintain referral relationships with primary care offices, pediatricians, school counselors, EAPs, and community organizations across Suffolk County.
  • Manage local marketing, including our Google Business Profile, content calendar, and social media presence.
  • Support intake operations to ensure every prospective client receives a prompt, professional response.
  • Assist with clinician recruiting, including sourcing, screening, and onboarding new therapists.
  • Support general practice operations, including scheduling coordination, vendor follow up, and documentation.

Compensation and Advancement

  • Base pay of $17.00 to $25.00 per hour, based on experience.
  • Performance bonuses paid upon completion of defined growth projects, such as insurance directory audits, established referral partnerships, and successful clinician onboarding. The full bonus schedule is reviewed during the interview process.
  • A structured advancement path to Director of Operations within 12 to 18 months for a candidate who consistently delivers.
  • This is an in person position based in Suffolk County, Long Island.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, completed or in progress, in psychology, social work, public health, healthcare administration, business, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • Exceptional follow through and organizational skills. Much of this work involves persistent, detailed execution with insurance carriers and community partners.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. You will represent the practice to carriers, referral partners, and families seeking care.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and spreadsheets. Experience with EHR systems, Google Business Profile, or social scheduling tools is a plus.
  • Self directed and dependable, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities independently.
  • An interest in mental health care is strongly preferred, and bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Why Join Us

You will gain direct experience across credentialing, referral development, healthcare marketing, and clinical recruitment, working closely with leadership in a growing practice. For a candidate building a career in practice management or healthcare administration, the combination of hands on responsibility, performance bonuses, and a defined path to a director level role is difficult to find elsewhere at this stage of a career.
