Fashion Design Intern

Women’s apparel company looking for PAID design intern to join our growing team, with an immediate start. Experience in fashion is a plus but NOT required. This position is meant for someone with an excitement about fashion and is looking to learn about the industry. Based on performance, could lead to full-time design assistant position. Established in 1987, we have worked to provide women of many ages in a range of sizes with a fashion forward wardrobe at a reasonable price, with the best quality. Our attention to detail and value is our main goal.

Our interns are the glue to our team, and we’re so grateful to have them! Looking for someone excited about the industry, positive and always brings a flexible “no-can-do” attitude!

Responsibilities and Duties

• Must be organized and have a strong attention to detail
• Background in design/retail is preferred
• Filing production fabric swatches
• Maintaining order and cleanliness of fabric closet (top priority)
• Searching for trim, linings and fabrications in the garment district
• Buying samples from various stores in the city
• Organizing sample racks
• Bringing samples back and forth to the showroom for market appointments
• Organizing various things around the office
• Returning packages
• Occasional errands consisting of picking up food, coffee, supplies, etc.
