Senior ETL Developer – Azure (ADF, Databricks, Python)

Role Overview

One of our clients is hiring a Senior ETL Developer for a contract role focused on hands-on development and delivery of data pipelines in Azure. This position requires a strong executor who can quickly build, optimize, and maintain ETL workflows using ADF, Databricks, Python, and SQL.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF)
• Build and optimize Databricks notebooks and Spark-based data transformations
• Write efficient and complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and validation
• Develop Python-based data processing scripts and automation utilities
• Implement data validation checks, error handling, and logging within ETL workflows
• Automate operational tasks using Shell/Bash/PowerShell scripting
• Integrate ETL pipelines into CI/CD workflows using Azure DevOps and GitHub
• Troubleshoot pipeline failures, optimize performance, and ensure data reliability
• Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and business teams to deliver data solutions on time

Required Skills

• 5+ years of ETL development experience (hands-on coding focus)
• Strong proficiency in Python for data processing
• Advanced SQL skills (complex joins, CTEs, window functions, performance tuning)
• Proven experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF)
• Strong experience with Databricks and Apache Spark
• Experience with scripting (Shell, Bash, or PowerShell)
• Solid understanding of data validation, data quality, and ETL best practices
• Experience working with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub)
• Familiarity with Git/version control

Pay: $65.00-$80.00 per hour
