Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team , playing a key hands-on role in building a world‑class technology platform with a global footprint. This team focuses on enabling business owners to get paid effortlessly, supporting business growth, and enhancing end‑customer experiences. You will contribute to a large, feature‑rich codebase, make sound technical decisions, and balance system scalability with developer simplicity. Working closely with cross‑functional Agile teams, UX designers, and Product Managers, you will help deliver high‑quality, customer‑centric solutions. This role also emphasizes mentorship, technical leadership, and continuous improvement within a fast‑paced Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Build impactful applications: Develop real‑world, customer‑facing applications that improve payment experiences.
• Technical decision‑making: Make informed design decisions while managing ambiguity and avoiding unnecessary complexity.
• Optimize and maintain systems: Design scalable, maintainable application technologies that reduce operational overhead.
• Cross‑functional collaboration: Partner with mobile engineers, UX designers, and Product Managers within Agile teams.
• Codebase ownership: Contribute to and maintain a large, production‑grade codebase with customer‑focused features.
• Technical leadership: Participate in architecture and design discussions; advocate for sound technical solutions.
• Quality assurance: Ensure high code quality through automated and exploratory testing practices.
• CI/CD excellence: Deploy code confidently using continuous integration and delivery pipelines.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in web application development
• Strong back‑end development foundation with hands‑on Python experience
• Practical front‑end exposure using modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React )
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated build/deployment workflows
• Hands‑on exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform , or similar tools
• Proven experience collaborating with Product Managers to shape technical execution
• Experience mentoring and guiding junior engineers
• Ability to balance rapid delivery with sound architectural and technical decision‑making
• Demonstrated habit of continuous learning and technology adoption

Nice‑to‑Have / Additional Skills

• Containerization and infrastructure tooling (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, etc.)
• Designing and consuming RESTful APIs
• Test‑Driven Development (TDD) or test‑first practices
• Event‑Driven Architecture experience
• Domain‑Driven Design (DDD) exposure
• Prior experience in payments, fintech , or working with the Stripe ecosystem

Salary range: 110-120K CAD
