Job Description

About the role

The StormGeo Energy Analytics team is building a new analytics platform for the energy and power markets. The platform is developed from the ground up, leveraging existing designs, services, and capabilities from StormGeo’s broader technology organization.

Our team is highly cross-functional, working closely across engineering, data science, meteorology, market analysis, and product design. We value pragmatic engineering, open communication, and respectful technical discussions. We believe the best solutions come from thoughtful collaboration, curiosity, and a willingness to learn from one another.

As a Frontend Developer, you will play a key role in designing and building rich, data-driven user experiences. You will focus on developing advanced visualizations and intuitive interfaces using TypeScript, enabling users to explore complex, near real-time energy data. You’ll collaborate closely with data scientists, designers, and domain experts to turn analytics into impactful, user-friendly applications.

The preferred location for this position is Oslo, Norway. Other StormGeo office locations may be considered for the right candidate.

What you’ll do

  • Design and build advanced data visualizations and interactive user interfaces in TypeScript
  • Develop and maintain modern frontend applications
  • Work with large-scale, near real-time datasets to create responsive and performant UIs
  • Collaborate with designers and domain experts to translate complex analytics into intuitive user experiences
  • Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and knowledge sharing to help the team make pragmatic engineering decisions
  • Contribute to frontend architecture, performance optimization, and code quality
  • Shape how users explore and interact with energy market data

What we’re looking for

  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks (e.g. Angular, Svelte, React, Vue)
  • Collaborative mindset with a pragmatic approach to solving problems and making technical decisions
  • Experience with data visualization libraries (e.g., D3, ECharts, Highcharts, etc.)
  • Experience building complex, data-heavy interfaces or visualizations
  • Solid understanding of web architecture, APIs, and performance considerations
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, usable interfaces
  • Interest in AI- and ML-driven applications

What’s nice to have

  • Experience with backend services, APIs, caching, or data-access optimization
  • Experience with Python, Node.js, or similar service technologies
  • Experience or interest in using Figma (dev-mode)
  • Eager to learn and develop yourself and others

What we offer

  • Challenging and meaningful technical problems within energy analytics
  • A collaborative, cross-functional, and international work environment
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • Opportunities for international development and professional growth
  • Life insurance, health insurance, and pension plan

If you’re a frontend-focused developer passionate about building powerful, data-driven user experiences, we’d love to hear from you.

We welcome candidates from all backgrounds and experiences. We’re looking for people who enjoy tackling challenging problems, sharing ideas openly, and helping their teammates succeed. We believe diverse perspectives and thoughtful collaboration lead to better software and better decisions.

If you do not fit all the criteria but feel you would be a great fit – please apply anyway!
