Job Title: Technical / CAD Designer I
Location: Schenectady, NY (100% Onsite)
Duration: 12+ Months Contract
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | 40 hours/week
Interview Process: One round virtual panel interview (camera on).
Job Summary:
Client is seeking a Technical / CAD Designer I to support engineering teams by creating and revising accurate 2D and 3D CAD models and technical drawings. The ideal candidate will have a background in CAD drafting, a strong understanding of engineering drawing standards, and the ability to work closely with engineers in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and update 2D/3D CAD models and engineering drawings.
- Modify existing drawings based on engineering markups and project requirements.
- Follow established drafting standards, procedures, and quality guidelines.
- Ensure drawings are accurate, complete, and ready for manufacturing or engineering use.
- Collaborate with engineers and project teams to meet project schedules.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Drafting, CAD, Engineering Technology, Mechanical Technology, or a related technical field (or equivalent vocational/technical training).
- Experience using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, Siemens NX, CATIA, or similar.
- Basic knowledge of engineering drafting principles and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills
