Job Description
YOU’VE NEVER WORKED AT A PLACE LIKE THIS BEFORE…
Most companies focus on tasks and processes, but we’re different. We believe that if you’re not growing faster than the company, something’s missing.
Our approach is built on empowering individuals to reach their full potential:
- We don’t just give you tasks; we teach you how to solve problems.
- We don’t measure hours worked; we celebrate results achieved.
- We don’t micromanage; we set the vision and let you lead the way.
It’s not just a mantra—it’s our daily reality. We live by these principles because our team deserves to be the best version of themselves. Whether you’re launching a new project, scaling a business, or simply striving for excellence, we want you to be fueled by a passion for progress.
Our goal is to create a community that doesn’t just set goals but crushes them. We push ourselves to be better every day, and for the right person, this is more than just a job—it’s a catalyst for personal and professional growth. This is your opportunity to be part of a dynamic team where every day is a chance to learn, grow, and thrive.
Join us if you’re ready to:
- Grow faster than you thought possible.
- Be part of a team that values results over routine.
- Take ownership and lead with vision.
If this resonates with you, let’s build something extraordinary together.
- Don Rahrig, CEO of Rain Engineering
Rain Engineering helps industrial manufacturers use MES to run their plants better. We implement and integrate some of the most complex systems on the factory floor — and we do it with a focused team that takes ownership from kickoff to go-live.
We’re growing fast, and we need someone who can keep our projects tight, our clients informed, and our team accountable. That’s where you come in.

Project Manager for Rain Engineering
Location: Noblesville, IN (In-person, some flexibility)
Compensation: From $85,000 per year, plus benefits
Role summary
This is a coordination and accountability role at its core. You’ll own the day-to-day rhythm of active projects — tracking what’s done, what’s due, and what’s at risk. You’ll be the person who remembers the detail everyone else forgot, sends the follow-up no one wants to write, and keeps both the internal team and the client moving in the same direction. You won’t be doing the engineering work, but you’ll be the reason it gets done on time.
What You’ll Do:
- Own the project schedule and keep it current — every task, every owner, every deadline
- Run regular internal check-ins and hold the team to their commitments
- Communicate proactively with clients — status updates, meeting notes, open item lists, next steps
- Track open issues and decisions and make sure nothing falls through the cracks
- Maintain project documentation so anyone can pick up where someone else left off
- Flag risks early and escalate when timelines or scope are in jeopardy
- Coordinate across implementation, support, and sales when a project touches multiple teams
What We’re Looking For
You don’t need a PMP or a degree in project management. What we do need is someone who is:
- Organized by nature — You keep lists, you follow up, you don’t let things get lost
- Deliberate in how you work — You think before you act and you do things right the first time
- Comfortable holding people accountable — You can have a direct conversation with a teammate or a client when something isn’t happening the way it should, without making it awkward
- Strong in written communication — Your emails and updates are clear, complete, and professional
- Detail-obsessed — The small stuff matters to you because you know it matters to the client
- Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or technical services environment is a bonus. It’s not required, but it helps.
What You’ll Be Working With
Our team uses Microsoft 365, Wrike for project tracking, and communicates heavily through Teams and email. You’ll get up to speed quickly on how we structure projects and what our clients expect.
Why Rain Engineering
You’ll work with a team that’s genuinely good at what they do and care about doing it right
You won’t get lost in layers of process or politics — we move fast and trust each other
Your work will be visible, and your impact will be real.
