The Role: Applied AI Engineer

Our start-up client is looking for Applied AI Engineers who can work at the intersection of AI and real-world business problems. This isn’t about building demos. You will own end-to-end development of production AI systems serving real customers from day one.

What You’ll Do

Own the full stack and product lifecycle

• Architect and build production-grade AI applications from zero to one.
• Design systems that handle enterprise-scale data and millions of users.
• Implement everything from model serving infrastructure to polished user interfaces.
• Make technical decisions balancing innovation with reliability.

Make AI work where it’s hardest

• Navigate regulated enterprise environments with demanding data, compliance, and stakeholder requirements.
• Build products that generate revenue and serve real customers, not prototypes.
• Work across fintech, enterprise SaaS, B2B services, and more.

Role requirements

Seniority

5+ years of experience as a fullstack engineer with AI application exposure

Work experience

• Experience shipping products at scale 0 to 1
• Recently built customer-​facing AI products (not internal tooling) using LLMs,​ agentic frameworks,​ or RAG – in the last 1–2 years
• Experience at high-​growth startups/scale-​ups
• Experience with enterprise B2B software

Education

• CS degree from top school

Hard skills

• Comfortable across the full stack (infra,​ backend,​ frontend)

Soft skills

• Extremely strong communications

• Enthusiasm about AI – from the products we are building,​ to the latest tools,​ and AI-​first ways of working

Salary

$200K - $250K

Equity

Up to 100% cash bonus + carry

Hybrid work policy

3 days/week with some travel to portcos
