JOB DESCRIPTION

What You’ll Do

You work alongside the Tech Lead and backend team to build and maintain ML pipelines. You’re experienced enough to handle most of the technical work independently, but there’s always someone to think through hard problems with.

Time Series Forecasting

• Build forecasting pipelines for sales and inventory demand from real POS data.
• Train and evaluate models: start with solid baselines (Prophet, LightGBM), expand toward more complex approaches as needed.
• Clean and process real-world time series data: missing values, outliers, seasonal patterns.
• Track and gradually improve accuracy over time.

Computer Vision

• Run experiments with pretrained models (YOLOv8, MobileNet) and fine-tune on real data.
• Evaluate results and iteratively improve precision/recall to meet product requirements.
• Help integrate inference into the backend alongside the engineering team.

ML Operations

• Maintain basic experiment tracking and model versioning.
• Deploy models via REST API and handle cases when model output goes wrong.
• Write documentation clear enough for the rest of the team to understand what the model is doing.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of ML experience — trained models on real data, not just Kaggle or coursework.
• Solid Python ML stack: pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, at least one of PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Knows how to evaluate models properly: pick the right metric, understand why high accuracy can still mean a bad model.
• Has worked with genuinely messy data — not just clean tutorial datasets.
• Can read and understand English technical documentation and research papers.

Nice to Have

• Any prior time series forecasting experience, regardless of industry.
• A real computer vision project (small is fine — what matters is knowing how to actually do it, not just the theory).
• Familiarity with MLflow, W&B, or any experiment tracking tool.
• Deployed a model to the cloud at least once (AWS, GCP, anything).
• SQL at a level where you can pull and wrangle data yourself.
