What You’ll Do

As a Backend Engineer, you’ll design, implement, and optimize systems that power mission-critical applications. Depending on your strengths and interests, you may focus on:

Infrastructure

• Build and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available systems.
• Improve operational reliability, performance, and monitoring.
• Support cloud infrastructure and distributed systems.

Platform

• Develop robust APIs, internal platforms, and developer tools.
• Improve engineering productivity, scalability, and operational efficiency.
• Create frameworks and services that support multiple product teams.

Product

• Build backend services that power customer-facing applications.
• Develop scalable solutions that enhance user experience and business outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful features.

Core Responsibilities

• Design, architect, and implement scalable backend systems and APIs.
• Ensure system reliability, performance, security, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, documentation, and engineering best practices.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and drive continuous improvements.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical leadership initiatives as appropriate.

What We’re Looking For

Basic Qualifications

• Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Java, Go, or Node.js.
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, or similar).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Understanding of REST APIs, microservices, and distributed system architectures.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization technologies.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and large-scale distributed systems.
• Exposure to high-volume transaction processing environments.
• Leadership experience through mentoring, project ownership, or technical guidance.
