Job Description Summary

The primary responsibility of a Cloud & Connectivity Architect is to plan, design

and assist with the implementation of global Cloud & Connectivity solutions,

establish and maintaining a strong governance, facilitate maintenance of Cloud

& Connectivity related strategies with end user communities, understanding end

user needs and in collaboration with them, and to update Cloud & Connectivity

strategies to meet future demands.

Main accountability:

· Responsible for Cloud & Connectivity solutions being aligned to best practices

by staying informed about industry trends and standards, participating in

external forums and collaborating with other companies similar to Ferring

· Key contributor in producing clear and well-defined tactical roadmaps for the

Cloud & Connectivity area, and for some Cloud & Connectivity solutions in more

detail

· Establish and enforce a common vision, handling and exploration of Cloud &

Connectivity functions

· Translating project-specific needs into solutions that will suit those needs and

considering the project needs in terms of resource usage and scalability

· Identify dependencies and common infrastructure components, and assess

aggregation methods

· Ensure relevant artefacts, e.g. run-books, processes, diagrams, configuration

management are created and maintain ownership of related artifacts

· Manage solution lifecycle with Ferring partners, validate solutions meet design

requirements, audit & validate tools and techniques used by the different

partners to maintain our Cloud & Hosting solutions

· Work closely with both LoB as well as Global IT colleagues in particular project

managers, service managers and application managers to avoid redundancy,

minimize expenditures and improve overall synergies within the organization

· Create solutions that support a DevOps approach for delivery and operations

of services

· Ensure that all solutions follow security and compliance controls, including

data sovereignty and/or any other applicable technical compliance matters

· Create proof-of-concepts with outsourcer to demonstrate viability of solutions

under consideration

· Act as Single point of contact between IT applications, business and suppliers

for architecture and design purpose.

· Be in control of assets needed to operate our Cloud & Connectivity solutions

and aid in managing outsourcer cost

Required Education / Qualifications / Skills (minimum requirements for the

job) • We are looking for a talented individual who has 10+ years’ experience

designing, executing, and supporting Azure and AWS Cloud & Connectivity

solutions

• You need to have a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering,

Information Technology or other relevant field

• Excellent architecture understanding of AWS cloud and hosting

• Excellent architecture understanding of Azure cloud and hosting

• Experience and proven track record with traditional connectivity technologies

(LAN/WAN/Wireless) and comfortable with emerging connectivity trends, such

as SDN, automation, Infra-as-code and programmability is a plus.

• Visionary on how the future of cloud and connectivity in general should

evolve

• Strong architecture & design expertise deep knowledge on AWS, Hyper-V,

Cloud Connectivity (Express Route/Direct Connects), Azure vWAN.

• Microsoft, Cisco and Linux Technology

• Strong architecture & design expertise deep knowledge on F5 – Load

Balancers, Checkpoint Firewalls and Palo Alto Firewalls is a plus.

• Strong architecture & design expertise on LAN and DC communications

environment, OT exposure is a plus.

• In-depth skills relating to virtualization, storage (physical, virtual, cloud), data

center, backup, disaster recovery, and cloud solutions

• Need to have strong experience managing and remediating AWS landing

zones and Hyper-V environments

• Strong knowledge of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS architecture offered on cloud

platforms and understand how to use them together to establish complex

solutions

• Knowledge relating to virtual desktops, AVDs/VDI, etc.

• Knowledge of networking engineering, including DNS, firewalls, load

balancing, etc.

• Knowledge of best practices for IT operations

• Experience with infrastructure as code and automation tools such as

Terraform, Ansible, Puppet and Chef
