What You Will Work On;
CI/CD Deployment Pipelines;
- Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Github Actions and Jenkins
- Manage GitHub repositories - branching strategies, access controls, and PR workflows
- Configure GitHub Actions for automated build, test, and deployment triggers
- Support deployment of .NET, Python, and NodeJS applications to AWS environments
- Manage IIS deployments on Windows Server for .NET backend services
Cloud Infrastructure - AWS;
- Provision and manage AWS services - EC2, S3, RDS, ElastiCache, SQS, SNS, SES, CloudWatch
- Monitor infrastructure health using CloudWatch dashboards, alarms, and log groups
- Manage IAM roles, policies, and access controls across environments
- Support environment setup and configuration across dev, staging, and production
- Assist with cost monitoring and resource optimisation on AWS
Containerisation Configuration;
- Work with Docker for containerising services and managing local and cloud environments
- Maintain environment configuration files and secrets management
- Support infrastructure-as-code efforts using AWS CloudFormation or similar tooling
Monitoring Observability;
- Set up and maintain application and infrastructure monitoring using CloudWatch and third-party tools
- Configure log aggregation, alerting, and on-call runbooks
- Assist in diagnosing and resolving production infrastructure issues
- Track uptime, latency, and error rates across services
Database Middleware Operations;
- Support operational management of MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, and Redis on AWS
- Assist with backup configuration, restore testing, and database access management
- Monitor Kafka cluster health and support basic operational tasks
Security Compliance;
- Apply security best practices - least-privilege IAM, security groups, VPC configuration
- Manage SSL certificates and domain configurations
- Assist with audit logging and environment hardening
Required Skills
Source Control CI/CD;
- GitHub - repository management, branching, access control, PR workflows
- GitHub Actions - workflow authoring for build, test, and deploy automation
- AWS CodeBuild CodeDeploy - pipeline setup and maintenance
- Basic understanding of release management and deployment rollback strategies
AWS Cloud;
- EC2 - instance provisioning, AMIs, auto-scaling basics
- S3 - storage management, bucket policies, lifecycle rules
- RDS - managed database operations, backups, parameter groups
- ElastiCache - Redis cluster management
- SQS / SNS / SES - messaging and notification service configuration
- CloudWatch - log groups, metrics, dashboards, alarms
- IAM - roles, policies, users, and least-privilege access
- VPC - subnets, security groups, routing basics
Infrastructure OS;
- Linux (Ubuntu/Amazon Linux) - shell scripting, file system, process management
- Windows Server - IIS configuration and troubleshooting for .NET deployments
- Docker - image build, container run, basic compose setups
General;
- Basic understanding of networking - DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, load balancers, SSL/TLS
- Familiarity with secrets management - environment variables, AWS Secrets Manager or Parameter Store
- Comfort reading application logs to triage infrastructure-related issues
Good to Have
- Exposure to Terraform or AWS CloudFormation for infrastructure-as-code
- Familiarity with Kafka - cluster monitoring, topic management basics
- Experience with APM or observability tools - Datadog, New Relic, or Grafana
- Exposure to Nginx or reverse proxy configuration
- Basic scripting in Python or Bash for automation tasks
Preferred Candidate Background;
